Uniquely Solving the Plastic Problem

Plastic production and pollution threaten the environment and the health of the global population. Synthetic plastics produced from petroleum-derived materials require a significant amount of energy input and generate large amounts of greenhouse gasses.

Millions of tons of plastic waste pollute the environment each year and inevitably persist for hundreds, if not thousands, of years, polluting our ecosystems and waterways, bioaccumulating in the human body, and presenting a long list of health concerns.

What is The Plastic Problem?

Soane Materials is leading the forefront of truly sustainable development with our diverse portfolio of renewable materials. We have transformed ordinary biomass into high value products by leveraging its innate material properties. Highlighting the circular nature of the environment, our materials are sourced from plants and designed to quickly biodegrade without leaving behind any trace of microplastics.

By creating completely plastic-free products that meet performance expectations, we differentiate ourselves while shifting the balance from complete reliance on synthetic plastic to natural, sustainable solutions.

How it Works

Overview of Manufacturing Process & Technology Highlights

Cellulose is the most abundant biopolymer on earth, and we are unlocking its potential. Cellulose fibers are found in the cell walls of plants and can be extracted from various forms of agricultural biomass. At Soane Materials we transform these cellulose fibers into high-value products through advanced formulation. Our bio-based, bio-degradable chemistry packages are specially selected for each application and material interactions are optimized through calculated processing steps. All our solutions are retrofitted to traditional manufacturing equipment specific for each product’s industry.
