Logan Boals
Research Scientist
Logan Boals is a Research Scientist at Soane Materials. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering with a minor in the Program in Sustainable Engineering, and a master's degree in Macromolecular Science and Engineering.
At Soane, Logan collaborates with the research team to utilize agricultural waste and other cellulose streams as replacements for single-use plastics in a wide range of applications, such as consumer goods and packaging materials. Combining his materials science knowledge and engineering principles with passion for environmental sustainability, Logan designs innovative solutions for pulp-based plastic replacements that meet customer's performance requirements. More specifically, Logan's work centers around developing PFAS-free solutions for improving barrier properties and OGWR performance of molded pulp fiber products.
